“This already feels like home” you’re expected to say.
After all, you have already moved many times.
It already feels like home, as you enter into your new house.
It already feels like home, as you unpack your belongings, tucked away in boxes, for the hundredth time
It already feels like home, as you sleep in your new room for the first time.
But…
What if it doesn’t?
What if it doesn’t feel like home when you enter into an unfamiliar area?
What if it doesn’t feel like home when you place your belongings somewhere you may not feel like you belong?
What if it doesn’t feel like home when you try to fall asleep in a new room?
It doesn’t always feel like home right away,
And that’s okay.
Despite the number of times you have moved, whether once or twenty times, it can still be difficult to leave behind one home to create another.
A flawless transition is not achievable, no matter how many times you move.
It’s okay to feel uncertain or sad at times.
PCSing is not easy.
Just know you are not alone in the struggle.
It may be difficult, but continue to persevere.
Find ways to make this move a little more exciting.
Explore the area and you may find your new favorite place to eat.
This move offers a new chance to experiment with your room setup.
Plug into your new community and make this transition a little less lonely.
With effort and perseverance, in no time you will find your new house turn into your home.
