I finally found it!
My niche, my group, my clique,
My team.
This is my place
These are my people
And just now when I’ve found it all
We got orders…
Three more months
Three more months in the place I love with my whole heart
I want to stay right here
But I know we have to go
I finally found what I love
I finally found the people I love
But now
It’s over
My life is always changing
But why can't I keep just this?
Maybe at the next station I’ll find a new team
I probably will
And just when I find them
When I have my team again
We’ll get more orders
And again, I’ll have to start over
This poem is about the struggle of being a military brat and moving as soon as you find your place. When you have to move a lot, it can be really difficult to find somewhere you belong. In my experience, as soon as I find that place, I have to move again. If this is something you’re experiencing, I suggest you continue the activities/clubs that you are a part of. For me, this meant continuing to do robotics. I have a strong passion for STEM, and when I put myself on a team with people who have a similar passion, it's easier to build strong friendships. And don’t forget that when you move, your friends don’t disappear. Keep in close contact with them and maintain the friendship, they may be going through the same issues you are.
