Moving

I am a military brat.

Which entails leaving and likely losing friends on a three-year basis.

This was a challenge that I was ready to face.

However, there is still the possibility of me moving at any moment.

The smell of boxes and a new house. 

I know all too well.

You sit there unpacking your memories,

Breathing in a familiar smell 

With a mix of new house and moving boxes

It is difficult to go through the clutter that is my memories.

I am a military brat.

This is a poem about moving, however each line is a quote from a different article I've written for Bloom. I wrote this as my farewell to Bloom. Even though I've only been here for a couple of years, it is time for my departure. Bloom has done so much for me, and I am very grateful for everyone on the team and this great opportunity I've been given. Bloom is an astonishing program that helps military brats all around the world feel seen and cope with the way our lives are. Keep up the good work, team. And thank you again.
