Every time I move, my heart hardens.

There’s nothing I can do but every time,

something new grows like in a garden.

I feel fine, but all of the sudden I feel tears roll down my face,

Then I realize, I don’t have anywhere to call mine

because I never stay in one place.

I leave all my friends, family, and people who love me,

for something unknown, for a place I know that I can’t

truly call home. We always say we’ll stay in touch and that we’ll

miss each other a bunch. But we both know it’s not true because

I’m off to something new, again and again.

I don’t think it will ever end.

But my life’s just like that, cuz’ I’m a Military Brat.

It’s not all bad though

because I remember all the friends I’ve had.

Even when I move, I have to leave friends behind

But I always make new ones who will love me and who are kind.

I’ve made friends who have been like brothers and sisters

even though they are from different misses and misters.
