Entries submitted using artificial intelligence or that have been plagiarised will be disqualified

Work must be school appropriate, no gore, violence, or offensive language.

No work allowed titled “untitled”

Judging process
-
Once applications close, submissions will be divided and each judge will read all the pieces submitted and rank their top 3. 1 being the work - in their opinion - of the hightest quality, and 3 being the third best based on RUBRIC. All writings ranked 1,2,3 will be pooled and voted again for their rank by the entire judging panel.

Bloom will make a congratulatory post on social media for the 1st through 3rd place winner (maybe honorable mentions)

Bloom will post the winning entries on the website

Bloom will contact winners and distribute monetary prizes through gift cards.

Eligibility:

Bloom’s Month of the Military Child Writing Contest is only open to military dependents aged 13-19. The contest is only open to legal residents of the United States and is void where prohibited by law. Volunteers of Bloom, a program of the National Military Family Association (the “Sponsor”), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household are not eligible to participate in the contest.

By participating, you agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules and represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of Bloom, a program of the National Military Family Association as final and binding as they relate to the content.

Contest Period

Entries will be accepted online starting on or about March 24, 2025, and ending on April 21, 2025. All online entries must be received by April 21, 2025, 11:59PM ET.

Terms

Bloom, a program of the National Military Family Association reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes. In such case, Bloom, a program of the National Military Family Association may select the recipients from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Bloom, a program of the National Military Family Association. Bloom, a program of the National Military Family Association reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the contest or website or violates these Terms &; Conditions. Additionally, any use of artificial intelligence is strictly prohibited and any use of it will result in disqualification. Bloom, a program of the National Military Family Association has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the contest, to void entries for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by contest rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering.
